Pastor Chester Chung

Pastor Chung was born in Chicago, Illinois, where he was saved by the love of God, his heavenly Father - who, in divine love, chose and adopted him as His child before the foundations of the earth - in the grace of God the eternal Son Jesus Christ -  who forgave all his sins, while still lost in his sins, by death on the cross, now reigning in all of life as his risen Lord - through the ministry of God the holy Spirit - who drew him to trust in Christ alone and indwelt him with power and wisdom to walk according to His Word - at his home church - Hanmee Korean Presbyterian Church in the west suburb of Chicago - where he was baptized from infancy into God's covenant family, confirmed in the faith, and grew in wisdom, stature, and in favor with God and His people.

​During his high school years on a short-term mission trip to rural villages in southern Mexico, Pastor Chung was called by the LORD into His ministry upon being inspired by the preaching and sincere passion for the gospel in rural Mexican pastors and itinerant preachers.

After devoting nine years to pastoral-ministerial training and over twenty years of ministry to the Korean-American church, Pastor Chung was honored to be part of a team to plant Hosanna Presbyterian Church of North Dallas, co-located with its Korean church partners, as a missional arm of the Korean ministry to reach farther and wider for the gospel to a people from every tribe, tongue, and nation.

​Husband to Ashley (former preschool teacher for children with disabilities in Korea; a graduate of  Chongshin University in childhood education), and father to Joy, Jonah, and son in the gospel, Ian Burns (in heaven), Pastor Chung enjoys preaching verse-by-verse chronologically through books of the Bible, creating gospel pamphlets for evangelism, budget getaways with his family, and prayer walks around the neighborhood. His special interest is the "unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace" (EPHESIANS 4:3) where diverse linguistic, ethnic, and cultural contexts meet together in the church.
