Pre-read, think through, and share this spiritual food in discussion with one another! “Repent and Turn Back, for Times of Refreshing are Coming” (ACTS 3:17-26). 1. [v.17-18] Although they acted in ignorance, having denied and crucified Jesus Christ the Author of life, what does Peter still call them (v.17)? What did God still fulfill in His Christ (v.18)? How have I been ignorant before God’s sacrificial love in the sufferings of His only Son, whom He foretold and fulfilled for us? How has God still called me His child and still blessed me with the fulfillment of all His promises? How can God’s word and promises never be derailed or ruined by my lack of understanding of His will, nor by my sinful actions, nor by the sinful actions of others towards me? 2. [v.19-21] Peter preached boldly about their sins not to condemn them, but to call them to what (v.19)? Why (v.19-21)? How is Christ calling me to turn around in both my mind and my actions as His new creation, blotting out everything stained and tainted into being spotless and cleansed? How is the Lord bringing times of refreshing from His presence with the hope of restoring all things so that we might be perfectly complete in Him? 3. [v.22-26] Even from the times of Moses, what was God saying to His people (v.22)? Why must Jesus be listened to, and what happens to those who choose not to listen (v.22-24)? For those who do listen, who are they promised to be and to have (v.25-26)? Where in my life am I not listening to Jesus Christ? By what the prophets have spoken and the covenant God has fulfilled, who am I and what has He done to bless me in Christ? *UPCOMING (*notice some dates may have changed) –
