3. ****CONGRATULATIONS, APPROVED CANDIDATES for ORDINATION! – Thank you for casting your sacred vote last week. Praise be to God for His answer in choosing our four new Deacon candidates for ordination – Deacon Chong Choe, Deaconess Gloria Gee, Deacon Waywah Gee, and Deaconess Angela Jeon-Huh. We will have a sacred time of ordination and installation for our new officers on 9/29 (Sunday) during our worship service. Pray for them and support them!
4. ****RETURNING TODAY after-service BREAKOUT DISCUSSION GROUPS – It is beautiful to see intentional gatherings of smaller groups with new faces, across life stages, making new godly connections, nurturing godly unity, and speaking the Word of God to one another. We’re bringing it back today! After-service, gather with your same number on the bottom of the sermon note-page. Spend 15 to 20 minutes discussing the breakout discussion question. *Remember our threefold purpose! (1) To be intentional in gathering across life stages and with new faces to nurture godly unity, character, and compassion; (2) To be a breakthrough help for one another to piece together, internalize, digest, and live out the seed of God’s Word planted; (3) To be a stepping-stone into midweek Life Group ministry to advance godly accountable relationships.

7. *THIS FRIDAY (9/20) AGAPE Life Group, 6:30pm @ location TBA – The young adult AGAPE life group will be gathering for a meal and a time to share life around “The Letter to the Philippians.” We welcome you to join our AGAPE ministry of college, postgraduates, and newlyweds, gathering every Friday evening at 6:30pm at various locations, with their shepherd, Elder Patrick Liu, guiding them, as they journey through the letter to the Philippians with leadership coach Jo Saxton.
8. *****NEXT SUNDAY (9/22) 1ST ANNIVERSARY JOINT FAMILY WORSHIP! – Church, congratulations on turning 1-years-old! Next Sunday, Elder Han will be here to give congratulatory remarks from Bethany Korean Church, the Media team will have a special video picture compilation of our first year, Stella Choe is getting baptized, a gift of a Hosanna t-shirt awaits you, and we’ll be a giving community by serving our entire family of churches (Bethany & Hosanna) rice-cakes. 9. **NEXT SUNDAY (9/22) MEETINGS – (1) Staff will meet for their monthly meeting at 1:15pm in the Office; (2) FALL PICNIC CREW will meet at 1:15pm in the Corner Conference Room to begin preparations for the picnic.

Our Father in heaven,
Thank You for appointing Your choice servants – Deacons and Elders – to lead Your church together. Not that they chose You, but You chose them and appointed them for this time. More than the spiritual gifts they possess or the areas of ministry they serve, may they be known for the character of Christ they uphold to imitate and represent Jesus well. May they devote themselves to the reading of Scripture, to being taught by it and to teach one another, to not neglect the gift they’ve been given, but practice the things they learn with the holy Spirit so that all may see their progress in faith. Raise them to be dignified, not two-faced, not heavy drinkers, not greedy, holding on to the faith that has been revealed with a clear conscience, tested and found without fault, not gossipers, sober-minded, faithful to their spouse and stewardship of their children in their households. Help them persist in Your godliness so that by being examples to the flock, salvation might come upon their household and all those who hear about them. Thank you for these approved candidates who will take Hosanna into a new year of Your harvest, through their Chief Shepherd, risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, amen & amen.

3. *TODAY, ***POSTPONED*** BREAKOUT DISCUSSION GROUPS – We are sad to postpone this beautiful after-service ministry, but we’ll pick it right back up next Sunday! Due to our congregational vote, we will need to use the after-service time for our congregational meeting and vote. ***However, the voting will not take up the entire time, so do stay after the congregational vote/meeting ends and have an informal time together for discussion and prayer with one another, as able and desired! Keep these Spirit-empowering discussions going!
4. *TODAY, after-service, CONGREGATIONAL VOTE – After-service, we will hold a congregational meeting to vote for the new candidates for the office of ordained Deacon. *This is our due diligence and spiritual responsibility as covenant partners and we ask all to take this seriously and reverently before the LORD – for all who are called to build God’s Kingdom at Hosanna. Cast a vote of “confidence” (meaning, yes I approve and support the candidate) or “no confidence” (meaning, no I disapprove and decline the candidate). *You must mark either option for each candidate. There is no “neutral” option. If there is no marking for one or multiple candidates, your ballot will not be counted. All ballots will be counted and the results given immediately after the vote by our ballot counters Hoon Park and Ben Park. Each candidate must receive a 2/3 majority vote to pass candidacy. We sincerely ask for your full participation in this historic election.
5. *GOD’S ANSWERED PRAYER for NEW STAFF – MINISTER OF WORSHIP AND PRAISE: Dr. Samantha Chao – We give praise to the Lord for His timely answer and choice servant for our staff search to fill the Worship and Praise Ministry. The Lord has called Dr. Samantha Chao to be our next Minister of Worship and Praise. Her first day in this role will commence on Sunday, October 6th. Before then, keep in prayer Dr. Chao and the Chao family as they transition into a new season with Hosanna, and pray for our church to continue supporting/helping the Chao’s to fulfill God’s calling upon their lives!

8. *THIS SATURDAY (9/14) JOHN life group GRILL/BBQ POTLUCK, 4:30pm @ the Park’s (JP/Maria) home – We invite all our adults and families part of the JOHN life group (led by Elder Joung) to this Saturday’s gathering, which will be a BBQ/grill cookout, and to share life through “Session 2: James 1:13-18.” Pray for our shepherd Elder Joung as he guides this precious family through their study on “The Letter of James” with author Francis Chan.

In the same way, servants in the church should be dignified, not two-faced, heavy drinkers, or greedy for money. They should hold on to the faith that has been revealed with a clear conscience. They should also be tested and then serve if they are without fault. In the same way, women who are servants in the church should be dignified and not gossip. They should be sober and faithful in everything they do. Servants must be faithful to their spouse and manage their children and their own households well. Those who have served well gain a good standing and considerable confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus. (1 Timothy 3:8-13, CEB – Common English Bible translation)

We bring before You Your servants, Your candidates for ordained office in Your church. More than the spiritual gifts they possess or the areas of ministry they serve, let our congregational election today uphold the character they seek to imitate – the character of their Lord Jesus – dignified, not two-faced, not heavy drinkers, not greedy, holding on to the faith that has been revealed with a clear conscience, tested and found without fault, not gossipers, sober-minded, faithful to their spouse and stewardship of their children in their households. Lord, we cast our vote today, but affirm You are the one that makes every decision. May Your will be done instead of ours! Appoint Your candidates through our sacred election. We give thanks for all that You will do ahead of us through Your candidates, in the chief servant our risen Lord Jesus Christ we pray, amen & amen.
