[The Gospel According to the Acts of the Apostles – THE CHURCH IN ACTION (part 42)] The Holy Spirit Fell on All Who Heard the Word (ACTS 10:44-48) (1.) [v.44] While hearing the Word of God being read, sung, preached, etc., how has the Holy Spirit fallen upon you? Are you hearing God’s Word in a way that invites the Holy Spirit to come down and fill up your life? What is different about hearing the Word without the Holy Spirit versus hearing the Word with the falling of the Spirit upon your mind, heart, and body? How has the Holy Spirit taught you to hear Him through the Word? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (2.) [v.45-46a] When have you been amazed at when the Holy Spirit worked in a way you didn’t expect? How do you see the Holy Spirit working through the Word of God in the same way in other people, other Bible-centered churches, other cultures, other languages, etc? When the Holy Spirit fills you and is poured out into you, how do you extoll God with your speech? Has God given you the Spirit’s gift of speaking other languages/tongues? If so, how are you using your bilingual/trilingual capacity to help others hear the Word and be filled with the Holy Spirit too? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (3.) [v.46b-48] Are you withholding or delaying water baptism for yourself or anyone else in your household on whom the Holy Spirit has touched and is being received? Now, the sign of belonging to God’s covenant people (His Church) was no longer made in the flesh (circumcision), but by water through baptism in the name of Jesus Christ. Have you and your household been marked with this sign by water, and how important is it to you to encourage others to receive the mark of water, receiving them into Christ’s body? Scripture: And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. (LUKE 9:23) Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple… So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple. (LUKE 14:27; LUKE 14:33) And he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised. (2 CORINTHIANS 5:15) Prayer (by Pastor Chester): Heavenly Father, we lift up to You week 3 of this holy Lenten season as we approach Easter 2026. As we follow the devotional theme “The Way of the Cross” this week, draw us closer to the ways of Jesus as He joyfully and obediently bore all of our sins in His body on the cross. Give us a clear vision of our cross – the posture of self-denial, the place of self-death to our worldly desires, ambitions, and sinful addictions. Challenge us in our fasting and praying if we are truly following after our Lord Jesus with the weight of our cross daily on our shoulders. For whoever does not bear his own cross and come after You cannot be Your disciple. For anyone who does not renounce all that he or she has cannot be Your disciple. Crucify us again with Christ, so that we no longer live, but only Christ who lives in and through us. Crucify us with Christ so that we might no longer live for ourselves, but for Him who for our sake died and was raised. Confirm in us through this Lenten season that Christ is truly there by the weight of our cross truly bearing down upon our shoulders, counting the cost, going the way of the cross as a true follower of Jesus Christ. Bless our worship today with the exaltation of Your Word in preaching and obeying. Bless our breakout discussions during-lunch with Spirit-filled reflections on it. Bless our breaking of bread, and the dessert ministries and celebrations of March birthdays. Bless this Saturday’s Crawfish boil at the radical generosity of Your servants, Deacon Juhae & Hoon. For all who come, fill not only their stomachs with food, but their souls and hearts with Your radical generosity to go and do the same for each other as the Park’s have shown. As we move forward an hour next Sunday, let us not think an hour is lost, but be alert for the hour of Christ’s return, causing us to live in greater watchfulness and fervency to holiness. Through our Lord of all hours and of all time, Jesus Christ who is the same yesterday, today, and forever, Amen & amen.

[The Gospel According to the Acts of the Apostles – THE CHURCH IN ACTION (part 41)] The Good News of Peace through Jesus Christ, Lord of All" (ACTS 10:34-43) (1.) [v.34-35] From Old Testament times, God had already made clear that He shows no partiality, bias, prejudice, nor favoritism towards anyone (Deuteronomy 10:17; 2 Chronicles 19:7; Job 34:19) and that His blessing is for all the families of the earth (Genesis 12:3). Yet, centuries later, the apostle Peter still struggled to understand and receive this. What are you still struggling to understand and receive from the gospel of Jesus Christ? Do you fear God and have you done what is right? Has this fear of God changed the relationships around you, accepting and reconciling with everyone who fears God and does what is right in His sight? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (2.) [v.36-38] Peter begins to tell Cornelius about the word of the gospel. This word was initially sent to Israel, but it was meant for the whole world as messengers preached the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all. How has Jesus brought peace by becoming your Lord of all instead of Lord of some? How has Jesus brought peace in healing the oppressions of the devil in you? How has Jesus brought peace by bringing the heavenly Father’s presence to be with you? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (3.) [v.39-41] Peter emphasizes the importance of his eyewitness testimony of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. What effects have you witnessed in your life that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is still making today? How has Jesus been your risen Lord instead of an imaginary legend? How are you communing at His table of fellowship with His living bread daily, like Peter did with the risen Christ? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (4.) [v.42-43] Peter’s focus is on Jesus and the responsibility he carries from Jesus. Where is the focus of your life? What responsibility has Jesus given to you? As you fulfill them, how is it resulting in greater faith in Jesus for all and forgiveness of sins? [Korean translation] “만유의 주 되신 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 화평의 복음” (사도행전 10장 34-43절) (1.) Help us hunger again, starving our sinful flesh and hungering after Your only Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Let this Easter not pass us by again, but draw us into this holy time of fasting and prayer for forty days, just as Christ went through for us in the wilderness. Lead us by Your Spirit into our wilderness, not to be overcome with temptation but be overcomers of all temptation by the devil, because Jesus has overcome for us. Help us not live by loaves of bread alone, or what feeds our temporal appetites in the world. We do not follow You just to have our stomachs filled. Keep us hungry for Christ. Keep us needy for Jesus. We shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from Your mouth, O God, the living bread of life in which we eat and will never go hungry again. Help us to seek that eternal life-giving bread, Jesus Christ, who died and rose and lives to intercede for us at Your right hand. Father God, bless all the fasting & praying this 2nd week of lent. [The Gospel According to the Acts of the Apostles – THE CHURCH IN ACTION (part 40)] We are All Here in the Presence of God to Hear the Word of God: Worshipful Preparation to Hearing the Commandments of the Lord (ACTS 10:23-33) (1.) [v.23] Peter is still in Joppa at Simon the Tanner’s home. Some 900 years prior to Peter in the same city of Joppa was a prophet named Jonah, who had resisted and fled the Lord’s instructions to go to Nineveh, and instead fled to Tarshish. Now, how is Peter reacting differently than Jonah did? When have you received the Word of the Lord like Jonah and fled to your Tarshish? How can you receive the Word of the Lord like Peter and obediently go to your Caesarea? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (2.) [v.24-26] Like Cornelius, are you “expecting” to hear from the Lord daily in His Word and through His messengers? Unlike Cornelius, how must you fall down at the feet of Jesus and worship Him alone rather than any other person/place/thing in order to hear His Word correctly? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (3.) [v.27-29] Like Peter, how is Jesus breaking down walls and barriers you once carried in your relationships with one another, especially within the church body? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (4.) [v.30-33] Like Cornelius, do you have a testimony of Jesus’ appearing in your life to tell? Are you humbly listening to Jesus in His presence, ready to hear His commandments through the messengers He has sent to you? [23절] 베드로는 여전히 욥바에 있는 가죽 세공업자 시몬의 집에 머물고 있었습니다. 베드로보다 약 900년 전에 같은 도시 욥바에 요나라는 예언자가 있었는데, 그는 주님께서 니느웨로 가라고 하신 명령을 거부하고 다시스로 도망쳤습니다. 그렇다면 베드로는 요나와 어떻게 다르게 행동했을까요? 여러분은 언제 주님의 말씀을 받고 요나처럼 다시스로 도망친 적이 있습니까? 어떻게 하면 베드로처럼 주님의 말씀을 받고 순종하여 가이사랴로 갈 수 있을까요? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (2.) [24-26절] 고넬료처럼 당신도 주님의 말씀과 그분의 사자들을 통해 매일 주님의 음성을 듣기를 “기대”하고 있습니까? 고넬료와는 달리, 어떻게 하면 예수님의 발 앞에 엎드려 다른 어떤 사람이나 장소나 사물이 아닌 오직 그분만을 경배해야만 그분의 말씀을 올바르게 들을 수 있습니까? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (3.) [27-29절] 베드로처럼 예수님께서는 여러분이 서로의 관계, 특히 교회 공동체 안에서 이전에 가지고 있던 벽과 장벽을 어떻게 허물고 계십니까? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (4.) [30-33절] 고넬료처럼 당신도 예수님께서 당신의 삶에 나타나신 것에 대한 간증을 가지고 있습니까? 당신은 겸손히 예수님의 임재 안에서 그분의 말씀을 듣고, 그분께서 당신에게 보내신 사자들을 통해 그분의 계명을 들을 준비가 되어 있습니까? *KINGDOM EXPANSION PRAYER – This week’s Kingdom expansion prayers will focus on thanksgiving for Missionary Cha & Great Commission Focus Weekend Scripture: And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (MATTHEW 28:18-20) Prayer (by Pastor Chester): Heavenly Father, we lift up to You, Your missionaries Pastor James & Faith Cha. Thank You for sending them to Hosanna at just the right time. No one who was greeted by them, prayed over by them, taught and preached to by them came away without having encountered the overflowing love of Jesus Christ and heart to make true disciples all over the world. We thank You for the fruits of the Spirit – their kindness, gentleness, genuine interest in the lives of each of our congregants and youth students. They have shown us the glorious face of Jesus Christ. Help us remember their encouragements from You, their challenges in Your Word, and their numerous testimonies of the powerful workings of Your Spirit in central Asia. Lord, help us live like the Cha’s in Jesus who holds all authority in heaven and on earth. Let us go to make disciples in every stage of life from infancy to adulthood, baptizing them in Your Name, teaching them Your commandments. Lord Jesus, let us be found true disciples whose devotion to You far outweighs our own family relationships. May ambassadors of Christ’s reconciliation emerge out of Hosanna to shine Your light through our beautiful church. As Lenten season begins this Wednesday, help us fast and pray, realigning our hunger to hunger after Jesus more and more, starving the flesh but feeding the soul. Bless our baby shower blessing today with joy in Your presence. Bless our dishwashers and kitchen ministry today. Bless the staff as they gather today. Bless the volleyball fellowship with Bethany today with safety and compassionate sportsmanship.
