Scripture: And when they had appointed elders for them in every church, with prayer and fasting they committed them to the Lord in whom they had believed. (ACTS 14:23) Shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. (1 PETER 5:2-4) Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. (HEBREWS 13:20-21) Prayer (by Pastor Chester): Heavenly Father, we lift up to You our future spiritual leaders of Hosanna – shepherds, servants, lay leaders, and future ordained officers – elders and deacons and ministers to lead Your Church. Father, flow unto us a steady stream of godly Spirit-empowered leaders who follow Jesus Christ faithfully, who are above reproach in all areas of life before You, and who lean on Your covenant to fulfill their spiritual responsibilities with joy and passion. Just as Paul and Barnabas appointed elders in every church in Derbe and Lystra, with prayer and fasting they just too commit our current Elders and future Elders to You. In this next year, appoint Your new elders to complete our Session, to guide and govern Your Church well with integrity, gentleness, wisdom, and compassion. Raise also more Deacons, lay leaders, and shepherds of Your flock. Holy Spirit, You call us all to grow into the progression of servanthood – from spiritual infancy, to adolescence, to adulthood, and into elderhood. Let us all grow to be Deacons – ordained or unordained – exercising oversight over spiritual infants, not under compulsion, but willingly, not for shameful gain but eagerly, not domineering over those in our charge but being examples to the congregation. And when You, Lord Jesus, our Chief Shepherd appears, we will receive the unfading crown of glory. Father, You have brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of Your eternal covenant that has equipped us fully with everything good to do Your will. So work within us that which is pleasing in the sight of Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever, in the name of Jesus our Chief Shepherd and Lead Servant of Hosanna Church, amen & amen.

Scripture: The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. (PROVERBS 16:9) Let your work be shown to your servants, and your glorious power to their children. Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands! (PSALM 90:16-17) Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work. (JOHN 4:34) Prayer (by Pastor Chester): Heavenly Father, we lift up to You our 2025 Hosanna events planned throughout the year. Father, we acknowledge the heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. We may plan, but You are the one who establishes our steps. Father, in all we may plant and water, we confess You are the One who makes it grow. With all our gatherings as a church family in Sunday worship, life groups, breakout groups, seasonal fellowships, ministry teams, our fall retreat, staff gatherings, session gatherings, diaconate gatherings, our attempts to gather new friends in outreach, be gathered with us as the center. In all our serving – in the kitchen, through praise and worship, in the backroom media, preschool, leading life group studies, breakout discussions, and other unseen ways by the hands of Your servants, would You serve through us. Let Your work be shown to us! Let Your glorious power be known to Your children. Let Your favor rest upon us, and establish the work of our hands! Especially, hold fast Your ordained officers to represent You well in serving all the events with all their heart, soul, and mind. Please bring a revived sense of Your hand upon us at our Spring Picnic and Fall Retreat. Help us build new contextual bridges for Your lost souls to come into Your flock. Like You, Lord Jesus, our food is to do the will of the Father and to accomplish His work. Let us finish well through 2025 and beyond, through the Author and Finisher of all Hosanna’s plans into 2025, Jesus Christ’s name we pray, amen & amen.
Scripture: Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. (JOHN 15:4) So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit. (EPHESIANS 2:19-22) Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. (1 PETER 3:8) Prayer (by Pastor Chester): Heavenly Father, we lift up to You the spiritual health and unity of Your beloved Hosanna Church. Lord, You have seen this wilderness season we have been passing through. You have been with us in both the joys and sorrows, for You give and take away in accord with Your sovereign plan and for the health of Your Church and Your Kingdom. You are the vine. We are the branches. Lord, help us abide in You, and You in us, as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine. More than just believing, let us be dwelling and living and remaining and settling – truly abiding in You and Your Words. For when we do, we know we will be healthy as Your Church – no longer strangers and aliens, but fellow citizens and saints and members of Your household. Build us on the foundation of Your apostles and prophets. Christ Jesus, be our cornerstone, where the whole structure of Hosanna is joined together. Grow us into Your holy temple, a dwelling place for You and Your Spirit. Lord, let us be Your dwelling for all Your lost sheep to come home and find shelter, food, and family. We thank You for choosing us for this high calling and honored privilege to be a part of Your Kingdom work at Hosanna. Make us one, as You are one, that all may have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly and sisterly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. Let us all agree with each other, that there be no divisions, but same mind and same judgment, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, for how sweet and good and pleasant is it with brothers and sisters in Christ dwell in unity! As we are many members, we are still one body in Your Son. Help us comfort, restore, and live in peace with each other through this union we have, through the head of the body and Chief Shepherd of the Church Jesus Christ we pray, amen & amen.
Scripture: And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. (ACTS 2:42) That very day two of them were going to a village named Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem, and they were talking with each other about all these things that had happened. While they were talking and discussing together, Jesus himself drew near and went with them. (LUKE 24:13-15) Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. (GALATIANS 6:2) Prayer (by Pastor Chester): Heavenly Father, we lift up to You the Lord’s Day Breakout Discussion Groups Ministry. Father, You’ve commanded us to let the words of Christ dwell in us richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with a thankful heart to You. We are well aware, Lord, that can’t just happen in a formal service, but must overflow into fellowship, discussion, the sharing of bread with one another. Let this richness of Your Word dwell upon Hosanna through this ministry. Break us out and break us up to interact with new faces, across life stages, across genders, to be Your body that equips and edifies one another to love You with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strength. As we devote ourselves to Your teaching in this discussion time, use the fellowship and breaking of bread and prayers to grow new discipleship relationships, kindle deeper renewal of mind, and increase love for this Church, for new faces/visitors we bring and You bring to us, and fuel a posture of praying for one another with the deep affection, care, and compassion of Christ. Use the breaking bread ministry to nourish it. Use the Deacons, Elders, and lay leaders to nurture it. Do not let a single soul who walks into this house of Yours leave without life-giving words and embrace from Your Son. In so doing, would You receive the glory and increase Your glory in this house, as we become Your hands and feet for Your flock and lost sheep. May we bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Your Son. Help us to bear them and not break off from them, for we are fulfilling Christ’s law – to love one another as He has loved us. Through Jesus Christ our Lord who drew near while the Emmaus disciples discussed with each other, amen & amen. |
