(1) What an Awesome God; (2) Song of the Saints; (3) Holy Spirit Have Your Way *TODAY’S BREAKOUT DISCUSSION GROUPS after-service in the gymnasium cafeteria – Today, spend some time in your group tables (group# found in the note page of your bulletin) and share the life of the preached Word. Pre-read, think through, and share this spiritual food in discussion with one another! “Listen to the Holy Spirit, for His Dwelling Place is in You” (ACTS 4:44-53). (1.) [v.44-46] Before any temple was built by king Solomon, how did God direct Moses the way He desired to dwell with His people (v.44)? This mobile tent (also known as the “tabernacle”) contained the Ark of the Covenant, with the tablets of the Ten Commandments, a jar of manna that God miraculously provided as food in the desert, and Aaron’s rod that budded (see the book of Numbers 17) which reminded the people of God’s priestly appointment and authority on Aaron and his priestly descendants. This mobile tent was called the “tent of witness” or “tent of testimony.” How did this tent give testimony and witness to God’s presence? Until when did God’s people carry this tent with them (v.45)? God did not ask for a greater dwelling place than a tent. Rather, who desired to find and make a more permanent dwelling (v.46)? It is easy to dwell with God on Sunday, being a “Sunday Christian.” Yet equally, how is God calling us to be “Monday Christians” too? How have we limited a worshipful life in Christ to only a time, location, season… when our God is a mobile tent, traveling with us everywhere with His testimony through our lives? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (2.) [v.47-50] Although king Solomon built a temple for God, did God dwell there (v.47-48)? According to Isaiah 66:1-2, why can’t God dwell in an earthly house made by hands (v.49-50)? What is in possession of your hands, being made with your hands, being praised by your hands that you think God is finding His dwelling place in? What earthly house are you building that God is not residing in? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (3.) [v.51-53] Instead of an earthly house, God chose a mobile tent. He still dwells in a mobile way through our ears, minds, hearts, and obedient action. How does He dwell like this (v.51-53)? How do you need to receive instead of resist what the holy Spirit is saying to you? How is God calling you to obey instead of obstruct His law? *UPCOMING (*notice some dates may have changed) –
*UPCOMING HAPPIEST BIRTHDAY TO YOU FROM OUR HOSANNA FAMILY! We celebrate you and love you in Christ so much! (*Let us know if we missed your birthday! We sincerely apologize) –
*KINGDOM EXPANSION PRAYER – This week’s Kingdom expansion prayers will focus on the 2025 “LIFT UP YOUR EYES” (John 4:35) HOSANNA FALL RETREAT. Scripture: Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest. (JOHN 4:35) The Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, “Lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward, for all the land that you see I will give to you and to your offspring forever. (GENESIS 13:14-15) I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. (PSALM 121:1-4) Prayer (by Pastor Chester): Heavenly Father, we lift up to You our very first retreat as a Hosanna Church family. Thank You for each one You have called, to make space for this sacred time, to retreat away from our daily tasks, our daily routines, to break our daily schedules, so that Your Spirit might make us one to be together and to seek Your face through Your Word. We pray for Your servant, Reverend Brian Hsieh from Collin County Chinese Fellowship English Ministry. Illuminate his mind with insight into Your message that You desire to speak to our congregation. Fill his heart with Your affections to love our congregation with the faithful teaching and preaching of Your Word. Flow Your power through him as he delivers Your instructions to us. Heavenly Father, lift up our eyes to You into this third year of life as Hosanna Church under the leadership of our new ordained team. Guard them with Your Spirit! Make them one in Your Son! – Elder Nara, Elder Patrick, Deacon Jonathan, Deacon Juhae, Deacon Chong, Deacon Waywah, Deacon Gloria! The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are so few. So send us all, Lord, as Hosanna, into Your harvest field. Help us see now Your fields are white for harvest. Like You promised to Abram and likewise to us, lift up our eyes to look from where we are, to look and see the Kingdom where You long to give to us now and into eternity, that Kingdom coming upon this land in Carrollton and north Dallas and out to the nations. You have given this land of Your lost souls and precious sheep to be gathered into Your Church. You have given it to us and to our offspring after us forever. We do not lift up our eyes to the hills, but to You, O LORD the Creator of every hill, our Helper and Redeemer, who made heaven and earth. You will not let our foot be moved! You who keeps us will neither slumber nor sleep. Through the Lifter-Up of our eyes and souls, our Lord Jesus Christ’s Name, in this powerful new season of harvest for Your Hosanna Church we pray, Amen & amen.
