Celebrate the joy of our Lord Jesus Christ adding to our number these precious children to Him belong, they are weak but He is strong! Yes, Jesus loves them! UPCOMING in TWO WEEKS on SATURDAY-SUNDAY (9/5-9/6) KITCHEN FOOD PREP & SERVING LUNCH FOR ENTIRE HOSANNA-BETHANY CHURCH FAMILIES – To bless Bethany’s 40th anniversary retreat, we will be serving the church lunch on Sunday to the Korean congregation at approximately 12:30pm. Table/chairs setup + Food prep for 200+ people will be on Saturday (9/5) at 4:30pm. Menu will be rice, Korean spicy pork (Jeyuk Bokkeum), lettuce, cold cucumber soup (Oi-Naengguk), and desserts (fruits + cookies). We will also celebrate our September birthdays with a birthday cake (served by sister Mya Krief). *We are in need of all-hands-in for this blessed opportunity to serve!! As the very first time in our history, Hosanna will serve the Sunday church lunch for both church families. Amen. *NEXT SUNDAY (8/30) OFFICER CANDIDATE PROFILES for ELECTION – The nominees who have been examined by Session, given a passing assessment, invited to candidacy and invitation accepted by the nominee will be announced with their profile. Although the Session has examined and passed each nominee to candidacy, the Session submits to the will of the congregation with a confidence or no-confidence vote for each candidate to assume their office. Two-thirds majority vote of the congregation is needed to pass each candidate. Congratulations on God’s faithfulness to Hosanna over these years! Special guest, Pastor Chester’s mother – Deaconess Sun Hae Chung – will be visiting to bless Hosanna with her prayers and financial support. We will have rice cakes for the whole Hosanna & Bethany church families, as well as an anniversary memorial gift for us to keep in prayer this blessed church that our Lord Jesus has founded. *Also, a special guest preacher is graciously coming to give us God’s words of encouragements, Pastor Peter Park. *Affectionately known as the “Asian Spiderman,” Peter Park has over three decades of pastoral experience and has been leading the main legacy campus of Chase Oaks Church in Plano, Texas for over 12 years. Originally from southern California, Pastor Peter graduated from UC Irvine with a degree in economics and began working in the field of accounting. He was called by the Lord into pastoral ministry and completed his studies in apologetics and biblical studies at Talbot School of Theology while serving as a Youth Pastor of Korean Westminster Presbyterian Church in Orange County, and as Executive Pastor and Interim Lead Pastor of Newsong Church in Fullerton, California. During college, Pastor Peter’s handsome looks landed him as the token Asian extra for the drama “Days of Our Lives” television program for three years. He loves to eat spaghetti, meatballs, Texas toast, and Dr. Pepper. He is married to his beautiful wife, and together they are now empty-nesters with two daughters in college. *Let’s prepare to celebrate and receive God’s Word through Pastor Peter!  *NEW ECO Presbyterian ENGLISH CHURCH BEING BORN OUT OF THE KOREAN-AMERICAN CHURCH! LIGHTHOUSE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH of Richardson/McKinney CHARTERING WORSHIP CELEBRATION (9/27/2026, Sunday 4:30pm at Binnerri Korean Presbyterian Church, Richardson, TX) – Our sibling ECO sister church – Lighthouse Presbyterian Church – being born out of Binnerri Korean Presbyterian Church – will be chartered with its first officers (Pastor, Elders, and Deacons) ordained and installed on Sunday, September 27, 4:30pm at the main sanctuary of the Korean ministry at 1301 Abrams Rd Richardson, TX 75081. As both Hosanna and Lighthouse are the only two Korean-American/Asian-American heritage churches chartered as ECO Presbyterian bodies, this is a very special moment in the life of our ECO family! Pastor Chester has been assisting in their chartering process and it has now come to fruition! Praise God for adding one more Christ-centered church to His Kingdom expansion mission and the advancement of the evangelical, reformed, Presbyterian, and egalitarian witness of the gospel and holy Scripture! We encourage all Hosanna congregants to attend and congratulate this historic moment for Lighthouse, as Pastor Chester has been scheduled to give one of the words of encourage/pastoral charge to the Lighthouse congregation, and participate in the laying on of hands for ordination and installation of new Officers. [LORD'S DAY RESURRECTION SUNDAY] The Gospel According to the Acts of the Apostles – THE CHURCH IN ACTION (part 64): Come to One Accord: The Letter that Keeps Us in Godly Unity (ACTS 15:22-29) (1.) [v.22-23] After James relays his compassionate judgment rooted in the truth of Scripture and a love for the Gentile Christians turning to God, the whole Jerusalem Church concluded that it was good to choose trusted servants to send back, along with Paul and Barnabas, to Antioch, informing them of their concluding judgments, as well as ensuring the integrity and delivery of their written letter. *Are you in one accord with one another? Is it truly good or not good to you in taking part in unifying Christ’s body together under the one written letter – the Word of God in Holy Scripture? Have your judgments been part of unifying or dividing Christ’s body, sending or hindering Christ’s servants? How has God chosen you to be His messenger, carrying His letter/His Word to bring His unity? (2.) [v.24-27] The letter clarified that those false teachers of a graceless gospel operated without ordered authorization from the Jerusalem Church’s leadership. Instead, they said to listen to the true teachers of the gospel, Barnabas and Paul, alongside the witness of Judas and Silas, who risked their lives for Christ. *How can you clarify unwarranted claims against the grace of the gospel? To guard the purity of the gospel and unity of the gospel, are you risking all of life for it? Why or why not? Is Christian unity worth risking your life? (3.) [v.28-29] The letter closes with Holy Spirit-guided instructions of grace in love to help bring Jewish and Gentile Christians together, telling them to abstain from unclean and immoral things. *What is the Spirit calling you to abstain from? How can your conduct to abstain or to continue in them either help or hurt the body of Christ?
