*TODAY (7/6) –
*UPCOMING NEXT WEEK –
*PRAISE SONGS for TODAY! – Practice them and be ready to sing them on Sunday morning. Praise on, brothers and sisters! (1) Holy Forever; (2) Bless God; (3) Undivided Heart *TODAY’S BREAKOUT DISCUSSION GROUPS after-service in the gymnasium cafeteria – Today, spend some time in your group tables (group# found in the note page of your bulletin) and share the life of the preached Word. Pre-read, think through, and share this spiritual food in discussion with one another! “Tell the Whole Truth and Give Your Whole Self to the Holy Spirit” (ACTS 5:1-11). (1.) [v.1-6] Like Barnabas did earlier, Ananias and his wife Sapphira wanted to sell their property too and give all the proceeds to the apostles. However, unlike Barnabas did, how differently did they go about doing this (v.1-2)? By doing this, who did they lie to (v.3-4)? What happened to Ananias – the husband – when his scheme was uncovered (v.5-6)? How am I “keeping back” what the Holy Spirit is asking to be giving all? By doing so, how am I appearing Christlike, when I am really not? By being dishonest with myself, who am I really lying to? How can I fear God instead of fear being uncovered/exposed? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (2.) [v.7-8] Like her husband Ananias did, what did Sapphira claim when asked about the price of the land that was sold (v.7-8)? How am I saying “yes” when I should really be saying “no”? Like He did to Sapphira, how is the Holy Spirit giving me a second chance to be honest before Him? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (3.) [v.9-11] According to Peter, what was Ananias and Sapphira doing to the Spirit of the Lord (v.9)? When confronted with the truth, what happens to Sapphira, just as what happened to her husband Ananias (v.10)? What came upon the whole church who heard these things (v.11)? How am I testing the Spirit of the Lord by keeping back what I should be giving all – my heart, my resources, my giving, my time, my love? Am I more fearful of being discovered by people or by God who can instantly demand my life back? *UPCOMING (*notice some dates may have changed) –
*UPCOMING HAPPIEST BIRTHDAY TO YOU FROM OUR HOSANNA FAMILY! We celebrate you and love you in Christ so much! (*Let us know if we missed your birthday! We sincerely apologize) –
*KINGDOM EXPANSION PRAYER – This week’s Kingdom expansion prayers will focus on the 2025-’26 Hosanna Ordained Spiritual Leadership Scripture: Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you by prophecy when the council of elders laid their hands on you. (1 TIMOTHY 4:14) The saying is trustworthy: If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task. Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. (1 TIMOTHY 3:1-3) So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. (1 PETER 5:1-4) Prayer (by Pastor Chester): Heavenly Father, we lift up to You the new class of 2025-’26 Hosanna ordained spiritual officers of your beloved Church. As we begin the nominations and prayer period today, guide us into Your heart, Your choice, and Your calling for ourselves and those you want to encourage to step up in spiritual maturity to serve, rather than to be served, just like the Son of Man and Son of God came to do as a ransom for many. Father, You created our highest pleasure to be humble servants of our Creator instead of addicted servant-slaves to creation. May the role of servanthood in Deaconship, and shepherdship in Eldership, be the natural progression of a maturing walk with Your Son, as we learn to shine His image brighter and more faithfully into a dark and depraved Church and world. Let us not neglect the gift you have given us by those who have prayed for us and laid their prayerful hands on us. Let us aspire to the noble office of Deacon and Elder to grow our godly Christlikeness, manifesting before others the true character of Christ. Grow followers into servants, and servants into commissioned officers who suffer well with Christ in overseeing His flock, so that we might partake in His glory to be revealed, until our Chief Elder, Chief Deacon and Shepherd appears with our crown of glory, Jesus Christ, Amen & amen!
