*UPCOMING IN FEBRUARY 2026 – SPECIAL BLESSING OF PREACHING & TEACHING FROM MISSIONARIES: Rev. James Cha & Faith Cha – Rev. James Cha is an ordained Presbyterian minister who, alongside his wife Faith Cha, has been serving as missionaries to the Muslim world for the past 25 years - 10 of those years in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan as church planting missionaries with Pioneers, during which time over 120 Muslims came to Christ by God’s grace over the course of their ministry. Rev. James Cha was born in Pusan, Korea, and immigrated to the United States in the early 1970's with his family. While studying electrical engineering at Cornell University, he surrendered his life to the call of God to be His ambassador to the world, especially to the Muslim world. In 1991, he married his best friend, Faith, and after completing ministry training at Columbia Biblical Seminary in South Carolina and YWAM's Crossroads DTS Discipleship Training School in Kona, Hawaii, the Cha's took their three young children - Joniel, Josiah, and Karis - to Central Asia to serve the Lord as church planting missionaries. Since 2000, the Cha's have been back in the U.S. reaching out to the nations living in their community in Virginia. They are on staff with Crescent Project, a ministry that equips local churches to reach out to Muslims. James and Faith are also founders of i43, a ministry committed to fulfilling the Great Commission to the ends of the earth. Currently, they oversee the ESL (English as Second Language) ministry at Cornerstone Chapel in Leesburg, Virginia and are actively teaching and preaching at missions conferences across the country. James and Faith are respected and experienced experts on world missions, spiritual warfare, evangelism through ESL ministry, and outreach to Muslims. James is the author of, "Fear Not: Living a Life of No Regrets."

“From Persecutor to Persecuted: The Increasing Strength, Provision, and Boldness in Christ” (ACTS 9:20-31)

(1.) [v.20-22] After Saul regained his sight through Ananias, was baptized, and regained his strength from food, what did he immediately start doing in Damascus (v.20)? How did all who hear him react (v.21)? Although Saul’s integrity was questioned, what did he increase in and keep doing (v.22)? How has your encounter with Jesus as resurrected Lord of your life immediately transformed an area of your life? What did you begin doing differently? Have others around your life noticed it? If you were in a court of law to be prosecuted as a “Christian,” would the jury find enough evidence in your life to convict you? Although your integrity in Christ may be questioned, how has the Lord strengthened you to endure? How have trials, hardships, and opposition against you proven to increase Christ in you?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(2.) [v.23-25] Why couldn’t Saul stay too long in Damascus (v.23-24)? How did the Lord provide a way of escape (v.25)? How has Christ provided a way of escape for you from people, places, passions, and possessions that seek to harm you?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(3.) [v.26-31] Saul escaped to Jerusalem, but was not welcomed by the disciples there. What act of Christ’s compassion did Barnabas do that allowed Saul to continue preaching boldly in Jerusalem for the time (v.26-28)? When a plot to kill Saul was discovered, what did the Jerusalem brothers do to protect Saul (v.29-30)? Through the ministry of Saul’s bold preaching of Jesus in Jerusalem, what began to spread, be built up, and multiply (v.31)? How can we become “Barnabas” to one another – sons and daughters of Christ’s encouragement – bringing one another to Jesus? What is God calling us to do to help Jesus be preached more boldly at Hosanna? How will Hosanna Church spread, be built up, and multiply?

*KINGDOM EXPANSION PRAYER – This week’s Kingdom expansion prayers will focus on Christmas Advent season & December ministries

Scripture:

But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. (GALATIANS 4:4-5)

Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. (MATTHEW 1:18)

She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” (MATTHEW 1:21)

Prayer (by Pastor Chester):
Heavenly Father, we lift up to You this holy Advent season, as we wait to celebrate your eternal Son’s first arrival laid on a manger as our newborn King, to our indestructible hope in His second arrival on the clouds of heaven in power and glory. Lord Jesus, You are the reason for this holy season. Lord Jesus, You are Immanuel God with us. Iin the fullness of time, our Heavenly Father sent You forth, born of a woman, born by the seed of the holy Spirit, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons and daughters of God! What a glorious birth that took place this way! At the most shameful time during betrothal to Joseph, Lord Jesus You became flesh in the womb of Mary from the conception of the holy Spirit. You were born into this world as our Lord Jesus, the One who save us from our sins! We thank You, Jesus, for being true God of true God, and coming from heaven to earth as sinless man among all sinful men. Thank You for Your redeeming work on this 39th anniversary of our legacy Korean congregation of Bethany, 39 years of Your faithfulness that has birthed us as Hosanna Church into existence. Bless Bethany KPC, the Session, all the new Officers, Pastor Jang and all pastoral staff to continue collecting your great Harvest among the Korean immigrant people in Dallas. Lord, be with the staff gathering today, the Session gathering today, our dessert ministry today served by our faithful Deacons, our brother Aiden as he celebrates his birthday this Saturday, our kitchen ministry this Saturday and Sunday, and our Agape life group this Saturday. May You get Your great glory through these ministries! Keep our eyes on You, the shoot from the stump of Jesse, our branch and our root in whom we bear all good fruit, through our newborn King, Lord, and Savior Jesus Christ we pray, Amen & amen.
