  1. *WELCOME to HOSANNA! – *Warmest welcome to all of you, especially if you are visiting or re-visiting! Please let our Welcoming Team give you our welcoming gift of a t-shirt and beige multi-purpose bag! Fill-out a yellow newcomer’s contact card so that we can keep in touch! We welcome you into this family of Christ’s loving arms and remain here for you as His body to grow and flourish together!
  1. *NEW RULE in FOYER HALLWAY – NO RUNNING, WALKING ONLY! – We want to emphasize the rule again – out of safety for the many people who use the long hallway/walkway and the entrance doors, we ask for all adults and children to walk carefully and prohibit running, as it can cause unintended accidents to adults and children alike passing from both directions. With care and caution, we can all remain safe in our narrow space together.
  2. *DISMISSAL (children (kinder to 5th grade) to Children’s Chapel with Minister Sunny! – At this time, children from kindergarten to 5th grade can head over to Pastor Sunny’s children’s ministry – please proceed to the children’s chapel down the hallway to the left! *Preschool worship children should already be in the preschool worship room with Director Rachel and assistant Ashley, and will continue to begin simultaneously at 10:40am in the preschool worship room.
  3. *BAPTISM/CONFIRMATION of faith – We are beginning another season of baptism (for infants, children, youth, and adults) or Confirmation of faith (for those who received baptism at infancy & early childhood and have come to trust in a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ). (1) Christian Parents are encouraged to have their children from infancy to early childhood baptized with a parental guardian’s profession of faith for the household. (2) Grown children, youth, and adults are encouraged to be baptized with a profession of faith in Christ. (3) Those who received baptism at infancy & early childhood and have grown to know, speak, and trust in Jesus as their Savior and Lord are encouraged to be confirmed through Confirmation with a profession of faith. **If you have not received baptism or confirmation of faith, we encourage all to pursue them as members at Christ’s table of holy communion to be administered at Thanksgiving Sunday (*baptism/confirmation is not required to participate in holy communion, but encouraged for all who come to the table as God’s invitation to Jesus). See the Pastor for more details.
  4. *TODAY, BREAKOUT DISCUSSION GROUP continue after-service! – Look at the number at the bottom of the message note page, and gather after-service with your same number. Let us share the life of God’s Word with each other!

Scripture:

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
(JOHN 15:16)

Shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. (1 PETER 5:2-3)

Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.
(ACTS 20:28)

Prayer (written by Pastor Chester):
Heavenly Father, we pray together for Your son and servant Will Zhao. He did not choose You, but You chose him and appointed him that he should go and bear much good fruit. We ask You, O Father, in Your name, that you prepare Will for the ordination retreat intensive next week at the ECO headquarters in Irving. Let it be a time You validate Your choice and calling upon Will, how You took a hold of his heart from those days he came as an exchange student in Engineering, to give up that successful career path to follow You into seminary and deep study in the Old Testament. Thank You for calling Will to shepherd Your flock, to exercise godly oversight willingly – not for shameful gain or domineering over those you will entrust to him, but as a gentle and true example of Christ, his chief shepherd, to the flock under his care at Highland Park Chinese Church and Solid Rock Fellowship. We pray for Will’s parents, brother, sister-in-law, and niece in China to come to faith in Christ Jesus as their Savior and Lord. Even now, bring circumstances, people, situations where they will think about You, Your Word, and about the Christ who indwells their son, brother, and uncle Will. We wait in eager expectation for all the glory You will receive through Will’s pastoral calling. Let him pay careful attention to himself and to all the flock of Solid Rock Fellowship, in which the holy Spirit has made him an overseer, to care for Your Church, which You obtained with Your own Son’s blood, through Jesus Christ’s resurrected Name we pray, amen & amen.
