*DISMISSAL of children (kinder to 5th grade) to Children’s Ministry and Youth Group to Bible study + Lunch! – At this time, children from kindergarten to 5th grade can head over to Minister Sewon Cho’s children’s ministry – please proceed to the children’s chapel down the hallway to the left! And youth group can head to your Bible study and lunch hour with Rev. Sooyoung Song. *Preschool worship children should already be in the preschool worship room with Director Rachel, and will continue to begin simultaneously at 10:30am in the preschool worship room.

​*HOMEGOING LONGTIME KOREAN DEACON TAE-KWON LEE – This past week, we grieve at the sudden homegoing of longtime Korean Deacon Tae-Kwon Lee in our Bethany congregation, who has served faithfully in the background for so many years. But our hearts are filled with joy at his promotion to the Kingdom of heaven, where we will join him one day with our Lord Jesus Christ. (Pictured in the middle: Deacon Tae-Kwon Lee).
 
*CONGRATULATIONS TO NEW OFFICERS WHO HAVE FINISHED THEIR ORIENTATION! – Already, all our new officers have been exercising their sacred roles as Elder and Deacons. We thank each of them for committing the past two weeks to learn about the weight of their office. Congratulations to Elder Nara, Deacon Jonathan, and Deacon Juhae!

*TODAY (11/2): CONGREGATIONAL MEETING immediately after-service in the Choir Room – Agenda: FINANCIAL UPDATE – The Session will hold a congregational gathering after-service to give an update on the 2025 budget, giving, expenses, and current state of Hosanna’s financial health. We humbly ask all Covenant Partners to do their due diligence in taking part in the gathering, asking any questions needed, receive the update and pray for the future financial health of Hosanna.

*DEADLINE NEXT SUNDAY (11/9) CHRISTMAS SHOEBOX PROJECT! – Bethany children’s ministry is doing their annual shoebox project to bless children around the world in need of necessities. Pickup a box in the Bethany lobby and fill appropriately. Collection of boxes remains open until 11/9.

• FOR HEALING: Sister Miki Krief’s mother (Deaconess Hwa-Ja Kang), for the Lord to strengthen her elderly health condition and for Miki’s continued godly oversight and care for her mother; All Hosanna congregants suffering from various ailments: back pains, eye pains, fevers, body aches, allergies, cough, sinuses, diabetes, high blood pressure, leg pains/sprains & broken bones (sister Jihoon Ventura in Korea), and other illnesses
• PRAISES TO GOD FOR ANSWERED PRAYERS: Lord’s answer of a successful completion of all pastoral ordination requirements for Pastor Chester’s mentee, Dr. Will Zhao; Lord’s answer of keeping Hosanna’s financial health with hopes for continued growth of His provisions; Lord’s addition of brother Timothy Sung in covenant partnership that has strengthened Hosanna; Lord’s answer for the blessing and spiritual growth time at the 2025 Fall Retreat “Lift Up Your Eyes”; Lord’s continued answers in the progressive healing of Director Rachel; Lord’s answer in overflowing joy for the Gee family’s pregnancy of new baby girl; God’s election of Hosanna’s newest ordained officers – Elder Nara Im Jeng, Deacon Jonathan Jeng, and Deacon Juhae Park; Re-installation of Elder Patrick Liu

Pray for this important season of discernment and may the Lord add unto her all the equipment she needs to fulfill her calling for the Lord’s Church and Kingdom! • FOR FUTURE MINISTRY TEAMS & SERVANTS: Formation of our Hosanna Intercessory Prayer (HIP) Team; 2025-’26 Candidates for Ordained Office (Deacons & Elders); *3rd Elder candidate – We trust that in God’s time and God’s way, the Lord will appoint and send to us His servant to help complete the required makeup of the Session of three Elders. We want to assure the congregation that the prayerful search will remain open year-round and once the candidate is identified, another election will held and the candidate installed accordingly. Let us pray for the one that God is calling. *Nominations for this office can be made known directly to any of the Elders.

*TODAY’S BREAKOUT DISCUSSION GROUPS after-service in the gymnasium cafeteria – Today, spend some time in your group tables (group# found in the note page of your bulletin) and share the life of the preached Word. Pre-read, think through, and share this spiritual food in discussion with one another!
“Pray for the Intent of Your Heart, What Money Cannot Buy” (ACTS 8:14-25)
 
(1.) [v.14-17] When the apostles at Jerusalem heard that the Samaritans had received the word of God through Deacon Philip’s preaching, what did they do and why (v.14-16)? What happened when the apostles laid their prayerful hands on the Samaritans (v.17)? The delay of the holy Spirit falling upon the Samaritans until Peter and John laid prayerful hands on them signifies God’s heart for the covenant unity of His Church through the giving of the holy Spirit. How does the holy Spirit need to bring us into greater reconciliation and covenant with one another? How is the filling of the holy Spirit and the work of the Spirit being delayed because of prayerless disunity and division within Christ’s body with other brothers/sisters in Christ, with our spouse/children, with our church family? How can we be sent to extend prayerful hands of the Spirit’s embrace? How is the Spirit calling us to submit to spiritual authority placed over us, waiting for their prayers and conferral of blessing?

(2.) [v.18-23] When Simon (the former magician/sorcerer) saw that the Spirit was given by the hands of the apostles, what did he do (v.18-19)? How did Peter respond to Simon’s request to buy the power of the Spirit (v.20-32)? When you see the Spirit at work, filling the hearts of His people with prayerful hands, do you desire to have it too? With what intent in your heart do you desire it? How has the way we use money corrupted the intent of our hearts to honor and submit to the Spirit?

(3.) [v.24-25] What does Simon request after hearing Peter’s rebuke (v.24)? After Simon’s repentance, what were the apostles able to do in many villages of the Samaritans (v.25)? How do you react to godly rebuke? How can our humble repentance unleash revival to many other people who need to do the same?

Scripture:
 
And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.” (ISAIAH 6:8)
 
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” (JOHN 11:25-26)
 
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. (1 PETER 2:24)
 
Prayer (by Pastor Chester):
Heavenly Father, we lift up to You a heart that gives thanks, for You alone are good, and Your steadfast love endures forever. With You, no circumstance can keep us from thanking You and rejoicing in You always. So we give You thanks with a grateful heart, for what You have done in completing the pastoral ordination journey of Your servant, Minister Will Zhao. Thank You for giving our Pastor an opportunity to spiritually invest and mentor his time, and finishing the journey with him. Make Minister Zhao the servant like Isaiah, who said, “Here I am, Lord, send me!” May great ministry await him and great glory be given to You through Minister Zhao’s pastoral life. Thank You for giving us the opportunity to pray for and meet him. Father God, we also thank You for giving us the honor to know and meet the late Deacon Tae-Kwon Lee. We thank You for His godly example and life as an offering to You and legacy of Christ to us. May we never forget His servant’s heart in the background washing dishes, mopping floors, cleaning tables. May we relive the servant heart of Jesus we saw through him. Receive Your servant, Deacon Tae-Kwon Lee, into Your everlasting arms, and wipe away every tear from his two children and widowed wife, that You may restore the joy of their salvation that will be joined to his with You at the last day. Though we die, we shall live, all who believe and live shall never die, as You promised. So also Your life remains for sister Jihoon. Get her up and walking in fuller strength. Put back together her ankle, joints, and foot. Bring Jihoon and Elena back to us safely., For by Your wounds, we are all healed with the body that bore our sins on that tree. In the Name of the our Lead Servant, Resurrection, and Healer, Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, Amen & amen.
