Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!” (MATTHEW 21:9) So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!” (JOHN 12:13) And Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, just as it is written, “Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey's colt!” (JOHN 12:14-15) And those who went before and those who followed were shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David! Hosanna in the highest!” (MARK 11:9-10) Prayer (by Pastor Chester): Heavenly Father, we rejoice with You yet also weep with You on this holy Palm Sunday, recalling both the joy and tears flowing down on the face of Your only eternal Son our Lord Jesus, our Hosanna Savior, as He entered the city one final time knowing what lied ahead – rejection, suffering, and the cross. Show us the holiness of Christ as we enter this holy passion week. No one takes Your life from You, Lord Jesus, but You laid it down on Your own accord. You have authority to lay it down. You have authority to take it up again! You sovereignly purposed the cross as the greatest demonstration of Your love, for while we were still sinners, You died for us. So as we raise our palm branches of praise and come out to greet You today, may You find a genuine worshipper who cries, “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord, the promised King to God’s people, the promised eternal Son to David! Behold, our King is coming, righteous and having salvation, humble and mounted on a colt!” Let us shout Hosanna – that You are our only Savior to save us from our sins, save us from our impending death, save us from the wrath of the final judgment to come! Let not our cries turn from praising You to crucifying You, but to trusting You and walking with You in the way of the cross, where we die to sin and live to righteousness, whereby Your wounds we find healing, whereby Your blood we are reconciled to You and one another. Bless our final week of holy week devotions with fasting and prayer. Bless our 9:30am breakfast fellowship with early worshippers. Bless our Palm Sunday discussion time & breaking of bread with joyful reflections. Bless the Officers today as they gather to plan and pray for Your church. Bless this Good Friday’s worship with renewed joy at the foot of the cross. Bless the tables/chairs setup this Saturday with our godly servants. And he said to Peter, “So, could you not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (MATTHEW 26:40-41) But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. (ISAIAH 40:31) Cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. (1 PETER 5:7-10) Prayer (by Pastor Chester): Heavenly Father, as we enter the 6th week of this holy Lenten season prior to the final Passion Week, show us what it means to be “Watching and Waiting” for Jesus Christ, on drawing nearer to the first coming and anticipating with blessed hope of the second coming of Your only Son. He has come to die and rise again, and He will come again with the clouds, with every eye seeing Him, as the First and the Last, who is, who was, and who is to come, our almighty Savior and Lord. Strengthen us to watch and pray instead of relax and sleep. May our prayerful dependence on Jesus keep us from entering independently into all temptation. Our spirit is indeed willing, but our flesh is so weak. By the power of prayer, keep our anxieties cast upon You and Your care for us. Sober our minds and keep our eyes watchful as the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking to devour. Strengthen us to resist the devil by being firm in faith, knowing the same kinds of sufferings are being experienced by our brotherhood and sisterhood at Hosanna and the global Church around the world. For after we suffer a little while on earth, You Yourself will restore us, confirm us, strengthen us, and establish us by Your grace and glory in Your only Son. So Lord, we wait upon You! As we wait, our strength is renewed upon You! Let us mount up with wings like eagles, run and not be weary, walk and not faint, for Your strength will arise within us! Bless our fasting and prayer this week and prepare us for Palm Sunday next week. Bless our breakfast fellowship with many to come earlier and on-time to service. Thank you to Bethany Elder Chun who worked so diligently to oversee completion of the new paint job. *KINGDOM EXPANSION PRAYER – This week’s Kingdom expansion prayers will focus on week 5 of this Lenten season devotional theme, “Walking Toward the Cross” Scripture: For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. (1 CORINTHIANS 1:18) But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. (GALATIANS 6:14) Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. (HEBREWS 12:1-2) Prayer (by Pastor Chester): Heavenly Father, as we enter the 5th week of this holy Lenten season, show us this week what it means to be “ Walking Toward the Cross.” The cross is an instrument of guilt, shame, and torture before the world. To live and end up on a cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. Show us afresh Your power in the cross – and not any old cross – but the cross that You sent Your only Son our Lord Jesus Christ to hang on and die for the atonement of our sins. Show us Your love poured out on His cross, that it was not the nails that kept Him hanging on it, but Your love with arms stretched wide for us to the end, where Christ died to bring death to all death, and show us the only way to cross over from death to life through His cross. How can be boast in anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ? For His death is now our death to the world crucified to us, and our death to the love for the things of the world. Let us therefore lay aside every weight and sing clinging so closely, and run with endurance the race that set before us, carrying our own cross, denying ourselves, and looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross for us, disregarding its shame, and is now seated at Your right hand of the heavenly throne. Bless our new 9:30am Sunday breakfast fellowship – help our congregants come early and welcome one another to the Lord’s Day. Bless our breakout discussions today with Spirit-filled reflections. We overflow with thanks to You for delivering sister Selene by Your merciful arms to the Gee’s and to us. Keep us all in Your grace and near Your cross out of Your empty tomb to keep going and making Your disciples, through our risen Lord Jesus Christ, Amen & Amen. *WELCOME to HOSANNA! – Warmest welcome to all of you, especially if you are visiting or re-visiting! Join us! *KINGDOM EXPANSION PRAYER – This week’s Kingdom expansion prayers will focus on week 4 of this Lenten season. Scripture: And he withdrew from them about a stone's throw, and knelt down and prayed, saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.” And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him. (LUKE 22:41-43) And being in agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground. (LUKE 22:44) I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (GALATIANS 2:20) Prayer (by Pastor Chester): Heavenly Father, we lift up to You our entrance into the 4th week of this holy Lenten season. Show us this week what it means to be “Called Beyond Ourselves.” Just as Your only Son, our Savior and Lord Jesus knelt down and prayed that night in the garden of Gethsemane before the cross, “Not my will, bot Yours be done.” Call us to say this with Jesus. Call us beyond ourselves, just as the Lord Jesus came not to seek His own will, but only the plans that aligned with You, Father and Spirit. Strengthen us as we battle with our flesh. Like Jesus did, help us to fast and pray more earnestly, even until great drops of blood fall down to the ground in the agony of submitting to Your will instead of our own. Keep us in awe of Your will that was to crush and forsake Your only Son on the cross, so that we might be forgiven and never forsaken, but called children of God! As Jesus took our place on the cross, may His death on the cross also be our death to our former self, for we have been crucified with Christ. We can no longer live, but now Christ alone lives in us. The life we now live in this flesh is no longer self-driven, but faith-driven in the Son of God who loved us and gave Himself for us. May Christ alone be the reason we have life in our flesh, and life everlasting in eternity in His Kingdom. Bless today’s “Spring Forward” daylight savings. Help us know the times and seasons and live alert and wakeful for the hour of Your return. Bless this 4th week of fasting and prayer through our Lent guide. Bless the breakout discussions during-lunch today with Spirit-filled reflections. Bless this Wednesday our sister Noa Krief and the Krief family as they celebrate her birth and nurture her new birth in You. Bless this Saturday’s Agape life gathering. Thank You for blessing yesterday’s Crawfish Boil fellowship. Thank You for the many lives you are growing in the womb and safely delivering to us by Your righteous hand. You are our faithful life-giving God. Fall on us today through Your Spirit and Your only Son, our Lord and Christ Jesus, Amen & Amen. |
