Director of Worship Technology, Media and Arts Ministry (part-time)

Description:
The Director of Worship Technology, Media and Arts Ministry will report to the session, be guided by the Pastor/Head of Staff, be supervised by the Executive Director Elder, and focus on directing, training, and shepherding a primary team of 8 ministry volunteers (which includes 2 coordinators, 4 facilitators, 1 presider and 1 social media designer) to lead the congregation into a deeper worshipful experience through multimedia technology and visual arts, enhancing the preached gospel message and the Worship and Praise Team’s ability to make a joyful noise to the Lord, drawing all people to the praises of His name.

Responsibilities:
  1. Weekly, on Sunday:
    1. Come by 9:40am and ensure all necessary components (instruments, wires, microphones, music stands, batteries in instruments, etc) are in working order and neatly tidy before the Worship and Praise Team members arrive; Do a broad setup for Team members (stands, microphones, instruments, wires, etc). Clean equipment properly and sanitize weekly
    2. Pray with the team of Sunday servants (Welcoming, Worship & Praise, etc) at 9:50am (front of Ezra Chapel)
    3. Be familiar with the order of worship and execute any particular visual or audio needs for each song by the Worship & Praise Team and the worship service overall
    4. Work closely with the Director of Worship & Praise Ministry and Pastor to do a broad run-through of the worship and praise set, overview of all worship slides, starting 10:00am prior to worship service. Finish broad run-through at the latest by 10:40am (30 minutes prior to 11:10am worship start-time)
    5. By 10:40am, ensure worship audio songs are played for ambiance of prayer as congregants enter for worship
    6. By 10:40am, meet with worship presider and ensure all announcement slides are in order
    7. By 10:40am, ensure pulpit mic and any media needs for message (like ppt clicker) is in good working order
    8. After worship service, help clean-up promptly microphones, tangled chords, instruments, pulpit mic etc – to leave the chapel clean and orderly; communicate clearly with all other stakeholders using the Ezra Chapel equipment – correcting those who do not leave the equipment in proper working order and cleanliness for the next users
  2. Oversee training of onboarding facilitators (beginners) and manage the group of coordinators (mid-to-advanced members)
  3. Create checklist-protocol pre-worship service to cover all bases in running the sound, media, livestream, and lighting
  4. Manage the rotation for team members
  5. Work closely with the Director of Worship and Praise Ministry for outside-Sunday practice hours (ex. Saturday mornings). Be present to support the practices for the Worship and Praise Team
  6. Set standards for multimedia layouts for light and visuals that are to be followed by the Team – fonts, colors, transitions, livestream youtube cover slides, etc.; change standards seasonally as needed
  7. Have spiritual discernment for Team members who need spiritual discipline, or need a break, or need to be challenged to step into new roles, or need to be staggered due to outside scheduling
  8. Be flexible to serve seasonally in worship tech and media venues outside of Sunday worship (ex. Good Friday) and sensitive to seasonal needs for each worship service (ex. Good Friday, Palm Sunday, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc).
  9. Social Media:
    1. Streamline all social media posts – Instagram, facebook, etc.
    2. Create monthly posts for upcoming events for the month
    3. Create important event posts as needed, on-going basis during the week of the event
    4. Create midweek posts on biblical points and lessons for each Sunday message
    5. Work closely with Pastor to improve public website of the church

Qualifications:
  1. Clear calling by God to this ministry
  2. Clear understanding of the spiritual influence this role carries (the projection of your spiritual state on the congregation as they are served by you)
  3. Clear integrity before God – are you abiding daily in His Word? Are you fully assured of your salvation? Do you have a personal relationship with Jesus? Have you been baptized and confirmed (if infant baptized)? Are you growing in godly purity, generosity, the fruits of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control) in your character?
  4. Clear integrity before the congregation as a mature follower of Jesus (proven testimony of salvation, growing reputation to desire Jesus in the Scriptures and teach others learned wisdom, proven trustworthy in relationships and acts of service to others, teachable and humble spirit, etc)
  5. Clear involvement in the life of your current local church
  6. Willing and teachable before the Lord, respectful and submissive to pastoral and spiritual authority/governance
  7. *High-capacity knowledge of multimedia technology and audio equipment – ability to envision improvements into the future according to the needs of the ministry-at-large
  8. *Worshipful Intelligence in worship-praise song enhancement through instrumental, vocal, and lighting adjustments
  9. *Graphic arts knowledge in creative visual posts for social media platforms

Financial Support & Breaks:
  • $400 monthly; $4,800 annum
  • 6-Sunday’s off/break period per year
    • 3 Sunday’s off/break to be taken consecutively after the first 6 months of serving (or on unavoidable life circumstance needs-basis)
    • Final 3 Sunday’s off/break to be taken on dates desired during remaining 6 months of the year
    • Breaks can be requested and approved by session with 2 weeks prior notice
    • 6-Sunday’s off/break renews yearly
